The Timber Tones Objects by Sjoerd Vroonland pay tribute to the timeless beauty of wood, material, and craftsmanship. Born from a lifelong passion for woodworking, this unique collection is the result of a close collaboration with FineMarq, a master in veneer craftsmanship and marquetry. Together, they merge traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design techniques, creating a series of refined and layered objects.

Marquetry as a Contemporary Design Language

Each object draws inspiration from the elegance of marquetry. Geometric patterns follow the organic flow and rhythm of wood, bending into harmonious compositions. A careful interplay of light and shadow creates visual depth, allowing each piece to continuously transform in character. Every perspective reveals new details, telling a fresh story with each glance.

From Art Object to Interior Application

The Timber Tones Objects function both as autonomous works of art and as inspiration for further applications. They served as the basis for the translation into carpets, specifically developed for Moooi Carpets. The collection bridges the worlds of art, product design, and interior application.
